Sausage Fest 2010
This past weekend, Tiff and I got together with my mother’s side of the family for Sausage Fest 2010. The gathering was the first time we had all gotten together to make homemade Italian sausage in about 12 years. It was exciting to keep a tradition my grandfather had once started alive. Using his handwritten recipe, we pounded, mixed, ground, filled, and packaged 270 pounds of delicious sausage.
I am thankful to my cousin Doug and my mother for spearheading the effort to make this event a reality. Everyone pitched in and played a key role in the evening. I am so blessed to have such a great family!
I now have 20 lbs of hot and mild Italian goodness to last me until Sausage Fest 2011.
